It’s a rewarding role, but it’s not just about taking a class—it’s a detailed process that requires a two-year commitment. At Healthy U Educators, we’re here to make sure you’re prepared every step of the way.

Why Become a BLS/Heartsaver Instructor?

Being a certified instructor allows you to teach CPR and first aid to individuals, businesses, and organizations. You’ll play a key role in making your community safer and better prepared to respond to emergencies. Plus, it’s an excellent opportunity to grow professionally while doing meaningful work.

How to Get Started

1. Contact the Training Site Coordinator

The first step is reaching out to your Training Site Coordinator at Healthy U Educators. They’ll send you an application form via DocuSign to get the process started.

💡 Pro Tip: Double-check your form for accuracy before submitting it to avoid delays in approval.

2. Submit Your Application

Once you’ve filled out the form, send it back through DocuSign. The Training Center will review your application, and upon approval, you’ll be matched with a Training Center Faculty (TCF).

3. Meet Your Training Center Faculty (TCF)

Your TCF will be your guide throughout the process. Here’s how they’ll help you:

  • Teach the instructor course to give you the foundational knowledge you need.
  • Mentor you as you begin teaching.
  • Monitor your progress to ensure you meet renewal requirements during the two-year certification period.

4. Complete the Essentials Courses

Before you can begin teaching, you’ll need to complete two key courses:

  • BLS Instructor Essentials
  • Heartsaver Instructor Essentials

Your TCF will guide you on where to purchase these courses, which can be completed online.

5. Submit Your Certificates

After finishing the Essentials courses, submit your certificates through DocuSign to your Training Site Coordinator. This step confirms your readiness to move forward.

6. Schedule Your Instructor Class

Once your certificates are approved, you’ll be scheduled for an instructor class. Note that there’s a 30-day waiting periodbefore this class can take place, so plan accordingly.
